Local is our Future
Today is World Localisation Day. Created by the non-profit organisation Local Futures three years ago, World Localisation Day invites us to look at the world through different eyes and gain an awareness of our own home by participating in local economic activity.
Localization brings the economy home - back to a human scale. So it's not about protectionism or ending global trade, but rather rebuilding healthy economic structures: by producing what we need locally and regionally.
If we buy locally produced food from small farmers, not only can we save CO2 emissions in production - small farmers also preserve 95% of agricultural biodiversity, they regenerate our soils, and their diversification makes them 20 times more productive than industrial monocultures. But responsibly produced food is not only better for our nature - it also tastes better!
With MARAI we want to rediscover time-tested traditions and celebrate the value of the local. We support regional craftsmanship and the preservation of local knowledge. All our materials, productions and manufactures are located within a radius of 150 kilometers. This allows us to stay in close contact with our partners. We thus support the flourishing of the local economy and also limit our ecological footprint.
Local is our Future.
