Our Motivation

The destruction of natural habitats, pollution through microplastics, global warming, and the loss of biodiversity: These are just a few of the challenges we read and hear about on a daily basis. It’s obvious: Our lifestyle poses a problem for nature and the climate. To change this, we need to produce more responsibly and consume more mindfully.

The good news is: It’s in our hands. We can counter all these hurdles and problems by modifying our behaviour. Conscious purchasing decisions can make a positive difference. And this is precisely what we want to make possible with MARAI. 

MARAI is more than a new line of bags: With MARAI we’re telling a story. Our products artfully combine the use of local resources deriving from the food industry, the strengths of mindful leather and sheepskin production, local artisanal craft, and timeless, high-quality design.
