A new piece of craftsmanship

It's still winter - but spring is on its way... The first snowdrops are popping up, the days are getting longer and nature is coming back to life. And we have something new to share with you soon!

For over two years we have been working on a project that is close to our hearts. Building on what has driven us for more than five years, we continue to transform goat skins - an overlooked by-product of Swiss food production that would otherwise go to waste. From the very beginning, we have been committed to vegetable tanning, working with a tannery in southern Germany to create leather for bags and accessories that become more beautiful with time, carrying the stories of those who wear them.

Doch was lässt sich noch alles aus diesem wertvollen Rohmaterial erschaffen, das uns in Fülle zur Verfügung steht? Auf der Suche nach neuen Möglichkeiten sind wir im Nordosten Portugals auf eine Gerberei gestossen, die bereit war, mit uns zu experimentieren. Zum ersten Mal haben wir dort eine chromfreie Gerbung ausprobiert – eine bewährte Methode, mit der wir bisher noch nicht gearbeitet hatten. Auch für die Gerberei war es eine neue Erfahrung, so kleine Ziegenfelle zu verarbeiten. Das Ergebnis? Ein besonders feines, leichtes und doch strapazierfähiges Leder. Dank einem feinen Finishing schützt es vor Feuchtigkeit und Abnutzung, und bleibt dennoch atmungsaktiv - perfekt also für Bekleidung <3

Our first garment was sewn in a small family business in Oporto. The brother and sister who run the atelier work with great care, experience and attention to detail - supported by two skilled seamstresses and an elderly gentleman who does the cutting. On 25 February, we will finally unveil the finished piece - along with the new edition of our hip belt. We can't wait to share it with you!
