Origin

Our goat leather comes from small farms in the Emmental, the Jura, and Ticino. Around 80,000 goats live in Switzerland, mostly kept for milk, leaving little use for young males whose hides often go to waste. Meanwhile, our bovine leather comes from organic, biodynamic, and regenerative farms. In both cases, the hides are a quiet byproduct of milk and meat production. Instead of letting them burn, we gather them through G. Neuenschwander Söhne AG in the Emmental—specialists in preserving and curing hides for over 150 years.

Tanning

Our hides are crafted at the Renz tannery in southern Germany, a family business specialising in vegetable-tanned leather since 1888. Instead of harmful chemicals, we use plant extracts from wood, bark, and tree fruits—one of the oldest tanning methods in existence, used today for only about 10% of all leather. The result: an open-pored, breathable leather that keeps its natural character and grows a beautiful patina over time.
